Dr. Liz Franqui
OWNER, CHIROPRACTOR
Background
Dr. Liz comes from a diverse background that she trusts has helped her greatly in her journey to becoming a chiropractor. Originally from New York, she has lived in Colorado, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Florida before settling here in Ontario.
When Liz was 2 years old, her mother took her to a chiropractor for the first time in hopes of alleviating her chronic ear infections. After that, many of her childhood years were spent in chiropractic offices where her mother worked. She and her twin brother spent numerous hours looking at spines and pestering the doctors. Many years and a lot less ear infections later, she was determined to go into a profession that helped people.
Education
Liz graduated from Philadelphia University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Textile Engineering, excited to develop innovative textile products that would help in the medical field. After several years and finding herself in an industry that wasn’t what she hoped for, she found herself in search of a new path where she could combine her passions of working with her hands, and helping people. A chance encounter led to an aha moment and everything fell into place. She attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Florida and graduated in the Fall of 2016. She moved to Ontario to do her preceptorship in London, and has been here ever since. In September 2021, Liz proudly opened her own wellness space, In Good Health!
Approach
Dr. Liz is a Chiropractor and facilitator, empowering her patients to understand their patterns & behaviours so that they are better equipped to problem solve and be proactive about their health and healing process. She is passionate about connecting with her patients and feels it allows for a healing partnership to occur where you can work together to tailor a specific care plan that focuses on all aspects of health; physical, emotional, and spiritual. She holds space for others, listening and providing patient-centered care. Dr. Liz applies a mix of chiropractic techniques with each adjustment including Diversified, Thompson Drop, Activator, along with soft tissue and energy work as needed.
Although her family is down in Florida and she misses them (and the year round sun!) terribly, Liz loves living here and is excited to help her community reach their full health potential.
Background
Growing up in London, Julie attended Saunders Secondary School, University of Western Ontario, and Fanshawe College. With a background in Human Resources, as well as Residential and Commercial Interior Design, Julie has spent many years working with people to help them determine what they need. In 1999, she started her holistic energy healing journey with Reiki. In her quest to learn all that she could about energy healing, Julie has studied many healing modalities to understand how and why Universal Energy flows.
Along with her children, Julie lived in the US in both Durango, Colorado and Phoenix, Arizona. She and her husband Mike returned to the London area in 2020, and live in Delaware with their dog Boots. Julie’s favourite moments are when her adult children & stepchildren, along with her grandchildren, are all gathered together!
Approach
When working with clients, Julie explains the different parts of the body that we can store negative energy, how we hold stress there, and how that makes us more prone to ailments. Having that information helps individuals to feel more informed and more in control of what’s going on in their body. Adding healing energy then helps to flush out stress that may be held in that part of the body.
If needed, Julie will provide guided meditation to assist in relaxation, and to help remove the mind clutter that can occupy all of our thoughts. Meditation takes about 15 minutes and is modified for each client’s needs.
Intuitive Energy Healing is an ancient healing modality, much like Reiki, that promotes and facilitates healing while supporting the relaxation of the mind and body. Intuitive Energy Healing uses lifeforce energy to heal. This energy has many names such as Chi (Traditional Chinese Medicine), Prana (Ayurveda), Source Energy/Light. This Life Force Energy is often reported as feeling gentle, calm, warm, tingly, loving energy, like being wrapped in love and warmth. Julie uses her hands through light touch &/or floating hands to deliver energy to your body, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support wellness and healing.
If you’ve been to In Good Health, you’ve met Tanys, our Office Manager; if you haven’t yet, you will! She’s the friendly face you see when you come & go, and the bubbly personality welcoming you in like family.
Background
She has a customer service and administrative background and has worked in various industries including education, veterinary health, and more. She enthusiastically takes on administration and has been integral to the opening of In Good Health. Dr. Liz can be heard saying to anyone who will listen, that if it weren’t for Tanys she would cry everyday!
Liz & Tanys met in 2019 when Tanys’ sister (who was already one of Dr. Liz’s patients) told her that she would absolutely love Liz, and that she could see them working together - knowing that Liz wanted to open her own space someday, and that Tanys had been interested in working in a holistic health environment. She went to an appointment with her sister to meet Liz, and right away she liked Liz’s personality & philosophy, and they ‘just clicked’; she booked an appointment that day. After being a patient of Liz’s for almost 2 years, they connected further through walks and conversations about growth & their own goals. This connection so naturally led to managing In Good Health.
Approach
Tanys has a growth mindset and through her own healing, developed a strong passion for holistic wellness. She strives to make everyone feel comfortable, treating them like friends, and excited to be part of their journey; she’s our biggest cheerleader. She loves to connect with people, including all of our patients & clients. She supports our whole team, and we’re so happy to have her in our work family.

DAVID GRAND
IGH COLLABORATOR • PSYCHOTHERAPIST
Grand Counselling & Consulting
David (he/him) is a Registered Social Worker and psychotherapist providing professional counselling services.
David completed his Master of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2016 where he is currently a part-time university instructor and PhD candidate at the Lyle S. Hallman Faculty of Social Work. In David’s doctoral research he focuses on understanding the complex connections between grief, trauma, and dispossession from places of belonging.
Combined with over 15 years of counselling experience, David has developed a particular specialty for working therapeutically with individuals living with the anxiety and emotional difficulties that often accompany experiences of grief, trauma, and significant loss.
Additional life challenges that David commonly supports in his therapeutic work with clients includes depression, anxiety, existential crisis, issues of codependency, body image, chronic stress and burnout.
Approach
David’s work as a therapist is positioned foundationally through anti-oppressive, psychodynamic and attachment-based frameworks of understanding. David has been educated in traditions that allow him to consider a holistic view of the individual within the broader contexts of their lives - seeking connections between mind, body, emotions, and community to identify and heal where someone may be feeling blocked or experiencing distress.
David believes that positive transformation within our lives occurs in the context of supportive and safe relationships. David therefore facilitates therapy services from a humanistic and relational stance that includes recognition of the inherent worth and dignity of all people. While David considers himself to be an eclectic therapy practitioner, drawing from a number of different therapeutic traditions, some of the modalities that have significantly influenced his work include Narrative Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Somatic Experiencing and mindfulness.
David acknowledges that he lives and works on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee, and Attawandaron peoples, on lands associated with the London Township and Sombra Treaties of 1796 and the Dish with One Spoon Covenant Wampum.
We can work along with David to bring you another aspect of whole-health treatment. Please reach out to David if you are interested in learning more, and to book a complimentary consultation call.
